I could be wrong, but wasn't there something in his left ear? Was someone giving him responses. And he got lost trying to deliver them, finally collapsing into an admission that he's not a very good extemporaneous speaker. "I hope -- I don't want to sound like I have made no mistakes. I'm confident I have. I just haven't -- you just put me under the spot here, and maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one" Perhaps Karen Hughes passed out in exasperation. I know Cheney wasn't helping him. I saw him at a Press Conference, I think it was in Japan. Hiiissss vvverrrry slloowww aannnssweersss, monotone and lack of energy seemed zombie-like. I hope the religious righties wake up to the fact that Bush and Company are among the false gods warned of in the Bible. Pat Robertson says he will continue to support Bush whether "he is right or wrong". Not much hope there.

And it will be. The night before last an AMERICAN VALUES station where Joey Reynolds usually hold stay was dedicated to messages imploring true Americans,patriots who want to preserve America to call their Senators, Congressmen and talk to their pastors,priest and get this Amendment to the constitution passed to protect the sanctity of the heterosexual marriage. We can succeed and the President will help us. Hour after hour this important message was transmitted. My thinking was, aren't there more important issues ? What is going on here...when people want to use the constitution to mandate and limit a minority from exercising its right. Discrimination and religion often go hand in hand. The religious right has a savior in the White House.
