So do you believe the Arabic press, that we're purposely targeting civilians as the article cites ?

Whether it's been worth our time to get involved in Iraq in the first place is one thing, but these so-called "insurgents" (pretty much the dregs and backwash of Iraqi society) have been brainwashing people to go commit suicide bombing missions against Red Cross personnel and the like so why shouldn't they be delighted to provoke firefights in the midst of (expendible in their view) civilians. It's been standard operating procedure in Israel by the Palestinians for ages (and hasn't accomplished much good there from the looks of things.)

I just find the very idea that we'd be deliberately targeting civilians so nonsensical given our goals to straighten out the mess in Iraq that it barely deserves comment. As for Al-Jazeera.... that's propaganda for Mohammed Sixpack, and the goal of the "insurgents" is to see as many civilians killed as possible to further their aims.

I'm not sure how to go about cleaning out a rats nest of armed criminals hiding in civilian populations myself.

Do insurgents have access to missiles?

Rocket propelled grenades are missiles, aren't they?
