Whatever the reason -- and some could be legitimate -- his answer fed into the Dem spin by sounding like he needed his 'handler' Cheney there to tell him what to say. Absolutely dreadful.

They just want to make sure they're both on the same page. They can explain contradictions amongst staff, but not amongst each other. Every time I see Bush speak it's like I'm at the athletic banquet of my hometown and the sophomore whose performed at varsity level and got his letter, gets to say a few words. I will admit, however, he did throw out a good pitch when he helped to open major league baseball this year. He probably is a good baseball man--but that's about it!
