"regular muslims" are the ones most at risk of ending up being "re-educated" in Gulags and killing fields if extremists manage to take power in their countries. Would have to agree - if they don't see that and oppose us, there isn't all that much we can do. Hopefully, at some point they'll realize that they themselves are the true target of the OBL'istas.

I hope not... Because we need to get moderate muslims to fight for their own futures against the agendas of the militants.

However, being "moderate" (and likely peaceful and rational) by inclination, they will obviously need some "encouragement" and hope that they won't be left flying in the breeze.

And that will take time for them to feel confident that the US is actually serious and in this for the long-term.
