ever see the movie Avalon? about a family of immigrants who came to this country [which I love for I am from an immigrant family] I think it's in the 1950's, with the story line revolving around this family and the advent of the television in early scenes you see the MOST lively events happening around the family dinner table, so much inter-action, arguing, feeding the dog table scraps, crazy misunderstandings, discussions in later years, [his son opens a television appliance store] the camera zooms in on the empty dining room table, lifeless, as the family has moved dinner to TV trays in front of the television, zombied in on some show - not a word is spoken
