I always thought some of the tribes were very gentle people.

It was the kings of the tribes that first started selling their captives to the white europeans. No white man was able to go very far into the interior of Africa and live to tell about it.

There was a documentary on this last year on the Discovery Channel. Made a whole lotta blacks really mad because they didn't wanna think they own people would sell 'em like that.
