New York, April 13, 2004—Air America Radio, the new national progressive entertainment talk radio network, announced today it will broadcast in six new markets beginning this week, bringing the nationwide total of broadcast outlets to sixteen. KSQR-AM (1240) will provide coverage in Sacramento and surrounding communities. WMTW-AM (870) has a signal covering Portland, ME. KBZC-AM (1300) has a signal covering Colorado Springs, CO. In Florida, WJNO-AM (1290) has a signal covering West Palm Beach, and WKIZ-AM (1500) has a signal covering Key West. WTWK-AM (1070) has a signal covering Plattsburgh, NY and Burlington, VT. Since the network’s launch on March 31, listeners in these markets have had access to Air America Radio’s programming via live Internet streaming on www.airamericaradio.com, and on XM Satellite Radio.

WMTW-AM in Portland, ME and WTWK-AM in Plattsburgh/Burlington will broadcast Air America Radio’s current line-up. Sacramento will broadcast Air America Radio programming weekdays from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Colorado Springs and Key West will broadcast Air America Radio programming from noon to 7 p.m., including The O’Franken Factor, airing weekdays from noon to 3 p.m., and The Randi Rhodes Show, airing weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. WJNO-AM in West Palm Beach, the original home of The Randi Rhodes Show, will air Randi’s show from 3 to 7 p.m., while broadcasting its current line-up the rest of the day.
The network’s on-air personalities represent today’s top political and popular satirists, commentators, and activists. The 6 to 9 a.m. morning drive time show, Morning Sedition, is hosted by Mark Maron, Sue Ellicot, and Mark Riley, and features the latest news, analysis, and up-to-the-minute interviews with newsmakers. The Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead, hip hop icon Chuck D, and Rachel Maddow host Unfiltered from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., featuring conversations about politics and culture with the hottest writers, musicians, and entertainers. From noon to 3 p.m., comedian and best-selling author Al Franken hosts The O’Franken Factor with longtime public radio host Katherine Lanpher.
South Florida liberal firebrand Randi Rhodes follows The O’Franken Factor, going national with her live call-in program, The Randi Rhodes Show, airing weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. Comedian and progressive actress Janeane Garofalo and actor/director Sam Seder host The Majority Report, a mix of politics, arts, and entertainment, which airs weeknights from 8 to 11 p.m.
Air America Radio’s weekend programming features the best of each week’s shows and highlights from all of Air America Radio’s programs. Listeners will also hear Bring The Noise with Chuck D, The Laura Flanders Show live, and syndicated programs The Satellite Sisters, Steppin’ Out, and Eco Talk. Starting in May, Air America Radio’s weekend programming will include The Ring of Fire, a news and commentary program hosted by environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and attorney Michael Papantonio.
