Isn't the point you're making that it's not about "oil" per se, it's about money? Oil is the focus of the particular play for money.

The oil companies are doing gangbuster business/profits right now. The Administration helps out by pumping oil into the startegic reserve at a time when gas prices are at very high levels, contributing to high price/barrel.

Throw in an additional aspect of the foreign [foreign to Iraq] contractors that are needed to run the Iraqi oil industry. Halliburton comes to mind, makes lots of revenue and profit off of Iraqi oil, even before the first barrel gets pumped.

Kerry has also endorsed Sharon's plan. Shows that extreme right wing Zionists are calling the foreign policy shots for BOTH the major parties on matters middle east, with just minor tactical differences between them

And they call this a democracy? Iraq war opponents have been disenfranchised just as Vietnam War opponents were disenfranchised in 1968 when both candidates supported that god awful slaughter.
