Re: Liu did not return follow-up calls seeking a response to Air America's allegations.

This a$$hole reporter, John Cook should be fired by the Tribune Co. for grossly irresponsible rumor-mongering.

You have to read forever through this jerk's drivel to learn that Liu cannot defend himself!

Air America said Thursday that it had obtained a temporary restraining order against MultiCultural, "forcing them to put us back on the air." The order, which was filed in New York, where MultiCultural is based, does not apply to KBLA in Santa Monica, however. [Reuters reported that New York State Supreme Court Judge Marilyn Diamond ordered Air America to post a $156,000 bond. She will hold a hearing on the dispute Monday.]

Air America Chairman Evan Cohen said the company had not asked the court to act in Los Angeles and was pursuing other options there, including finding a "more responsible and mature" business partner.

Efforts to contact MultiCultural for comment were not successful.
Earlier this week, the Chicago Tribune quoted the company's owner, Arthur Liu, as saying that Air America bounced a check to MultiCultural on Wednesday.

In its lawsuit, Air America said its payments were up to date and claimed that MultiCultural removed the network's signal from WTND in Chicago without notice and changed the locks on the station's offices.
