Why dont these Shias rise up and defend us and their country against the thugs and terrorists? that's a good question - where are they now and why are they invisible? I can understand how the general population, the majority have become a timid people, just by living under the tyrannical rule of Sadam for all those decades afraid to do anything, afraid to make the wrong step, afraid to even be noticed however it is their freedoms we fought and fight for damnit, if by now we haven't proven our commitment to their country, to their freedom to self rule - if they still question our intent, then they have a problem we can't fix

Sunnis? And do you really think Al-Sadr himself is a Saddam die-hard? [Hint: Saddam had his father killed] Everyone knows I support this excursion into Iraq and believe the goal is a worthy one, but I really do wonder why we are not getting FANATICAL type help from the Iraqi's. If there seems to be a contradiction in what you think you know, check your premises.... Like this assumption of yours that Iraqis actually WANT you there - Consider the possibility that Iraqis don't like being under occupation. That would be one reason why you are not seeing "fanatical type help" from them, and it could even explain why they have taken up arms against your military.
