We had a very run down neighborhood in Evansville that was called Boxtown.

Big stores and club stores, Walmart, Costco, etc., usually will give you big boxes if you ask nice. You might even find a few that can be put together into a 3-bedroom ranch with attached garage. Free housing except for a location. Greyhound bus stations are open all hours and have bathroom facilities.
