It's a losing argument (because the entire system is so corrupted by special interest loopholes and 'national industrial policy', where the government does it's best to screw-up the free market... and that's the LARGER issue, not 'what class gets gored the most'), but presently, it's the middle class that is the beast of burden.

The average effective tax rate paid (which accounts for the influence of all the tax-avoiding loopholes) is HIGHER for the middle class, then it is for the very rich, or for the very poor.

Just as the middle class pays far more then corporations (both in absolute dollars, and in average effective tax rate).
