Ahh! but it does require it, to some degree. Write at the wrong time can cause your b&h stock to be called or having to make on-going nuisance repairs.

Regarding your QCOM purchase. Take a look at it's chart and compare QCOM rallies and reactions to RMBS. You got at least 10 point moves with RMBS. I'm going to take a WAG and say most likely you timed your purchase after your analysis.

I have no problem with buy/writes. I've done a lot of them
with the intent of being called. But they were done with uptrending stocks.

At 3:50 p.m est he's already down about 3 points. Did he get out a B-E or did he hold? Was his intent a ST move or a LT B&H? My point was, without a strong understanding of the basics this market will kill you quick.
