That's so true, even at the local level. Last Nov two county commissioner candidates were elected who promised minor tax cuts if elected. They neglected to add that they would increase other taxes by 35%--which is exactly what they did about one month into their new administration. When candidates realize they must raise taxes in order to fulfill their campaign promises, they do it immediately following their election, hoping voters anger will fade away before they're up for re-election in 4yrs.
