Of course, since WWII and the Depression, America and the rest of the western world have become progressive tax, wealth redistribution, social program countries. And the world is a far better place because of it.

You're not arguing that the Gilded Age was superior to the post WWII industrial revolution and establishment of the American middle class are you?
