Correct me if I'm wrong. But when the war in Iraq was "won," didn't the country's infrastructure get largely destroyed in the aftermath by looters and others because there was no one around to protect those assets. Plus, before the invasion, were there not studies published that said 250,000 soldiers was the magic number for success. One portion to fight, the other to takeover security. I've seen and read on the news that Rumsfeld and his associates only had eyes for winning the invasion, focussing less on what will ensue when the war was won. I guess they thought they would be greeted by joyful Iraqis. Not everyone believed it would be that way, but the administration did.
