At least you would vote for someone with similar views, and it would be just a effective as any other third party vote.

I can sympathize with your sense of betrayal that we've been handed a horrid choice in November.

If you live in a state where the election is clearly going one way or the other, then vote your conscience.

However, if you live in so-called "battleground" state then I would strongly encourage you to quit being such a naive idealist.
