John--"(In the meantime I'll continue to sell calls against a medium sized position)" Why would you want to sell calls when the stock is already down? Wouldn't you do better by waiting for some recovery?

John:

You left out the part, "Thomson Weisel's Gomberg said SanDisk employed a similar price cutting strategy in 2003, which "resulted in a very significant uptick in consumer demand and in Sandisk sales."

Regarding the balancing act, Eli is pretty good at it, and knows what he is doing, and understands it. He seems to be about the only one who does.

If you want to do something interesting listen to the Lexar conference call and compare it to the Sandisk cc. The guys at Lexar sound lost by comparison, which surprised me. Listen and see what you think, especially at 8:30 and 18:00 minutes into the call.

Their margins dropped from 21.9 last quarter to 15.7% this quarter and they really have no idea what next quarter will bring or how to fix it. Just listen.

Have a good weekend.
