<<< by your answer you seem to say that an Islamist ideology is inherent to Islam, or you think that I think so.>>>

All this is new to me - just as I didn't know anything about Al Qaeda and OBL before 911 - I didn't know the difference between Islam and the Islamist ideology until when you just explained it.

I should be more embarassed and ashamed of my ignorance than I am, but in a lot of ways I am not unlike a huge percentage of our overall population.

Until 911, things outside of the US and perhaps Western Europe, didn't concern me. I was / am still sort of superficially interested in Asia where I saw my investments in Coca Cola, Intel and others paying off( but that is an entirely different subject).

But not too unlike the rest of the USA, I have no compelling interest in learning another language, and my plate is full just keeping up with Baseball, the Final Four, the Masters Tournament and the upcoming NFL draft.

Nontheless, we are not stupid. We are a diverse population. We have a lot of everything. We have the best people here from everywhere in the world, and we have some of the worst people. As a beer commercial use to point out (my updated version) we have more successful Iranians in Southern California than they have in all of Iran. We have more successful Greeks in Astoria, Queens than they have in Athens... and on and on.

I know I sound like I am digressing, but my purpose here is to 1)bring some fresh thinking here that hopefully represent a segment of our population (10 to 20% perhaps) 2) learn something from others that I think I disagree with, 3) and finally to test out some of my thoughts against my core beliefs and see if it holds up.

Basically I believe all our DNA are similar even though we have different physical attributes (we can be tall or short, have fair complection or dark, with hi or lo IQ - or brain power).

Heck, we have proven that already. We can take any kid, put them through our school system and they can turn out to be Tiger Woods (I think he is a mixture of everything on earth).

We shouldn't demonize people and attribute to them strange powers that they don't have. They can't train their kids to be suicide bombers with something that is totally evil.

Have you ever tried to train a teen ager to take out the garbage or clean up their room. You can't do it by threatening or even promising fantastic reward.

Imagine what an Islamist would have to do to train their kids to blow themselves up.

IMO the only way we can fight this is to fully understand how they do this and offer an alternative.

It's pretty simple. They are on the wrong side on this and we are on the right side. There is no way they can win with a false ideology.

The bottom line then, IMO is that even though I don't have all the details, my core beliefs are sound, have been tested over time, and can not be beat.
