The taxpayers are charged probably 250% more than the truck drivers are paid. Maybe even more since they have an inside line to the White House.

THe gov't contracts I worked on here in the US made 250% profit on every employee...........that's how business works.

I certainly think the truck drivers should be well paid for the high risk job they have. But, I don't think Halliburton needs to get compensated so highly for being the middleman. Frankly, it would be cheaper and more practical for us to hire Iraqis. There has to be trained people in Iraq cause they had a functioning society before we invaded. WHy aren't we giving the contracts to them directly?

I know a woman who went to medical school in Baghdad while Saddam was in power..........there are plenty of professionals there that are capable. GIving the jobs to Iraqis would be a gesture of goodwill to Iraq ( which we need alot of about now). If the men had jobs they might not have time to fight!

This war is pure golden gravy that's pouring out of our wallets and filling the pockets of Halliburtoin and Bechtel executives !!!!!!

The truck drivers hired by Haliburton are paid 100k/year tax free.

Why don't they hire Iraqi's to drive trucks? That would help the unemployment.

My nephew was offered a truck driving job by Haliburton in Iraq. He was going to be paid $ 89.000 tax free as you said. He turned the job down because he feared the climate over there. This was months ago.
