>> Why not sell deep ITM naked calls short instead of the stock? <<

Now that we get to look back at what happened to the I-nets you are right on the money, but it would work much better if they offered "leaps"...

Of course you need deep pockets to continue to play the game until ends, but when it does, it's pay day...

Think about being naked some CMGI Jan 2002 200calls back in January 2000 or ARBA or ???

Well you get the picture...

Many said "damn if I only bought puts", or "if I only shorted at the top"...

Naked leap calls were "pure profit" and with the premiums they fetch at worst they turned to "covered calls" and you still kept the premium...

This is the fastest way to get "rich" in the market but if you can't afford to convert them to "covered" you shouldn't be playing the game...

Index options do the same thing (huge premiums)...

Sell some naked SPX options in the final week of expiration and set some "GTC" orders to convert them to "covered" if you're wrong...

You can't lose as long as you have the capital to cover the naked trade and more often often than not you will clean up that premium w/out even a blink...

PS
Go to a Black Jack table w/out a betting limit and you can't lose...
