thanks I took your advice and surprisingly, there are a number of libraries outside of OK that have OK records. Mostly this is due to the indian populations in OK apparently. So UC berkeley has a whole section for OK research set up by the BIA! (bureau indian affairs) This rocks because I am right next to Berkeley, it makes my life easier.

Apparently to get BIA money you need to prove you are of american indian descent and there were no records kept. So current students do a fair amount of research.
