"The oxidizing agent you will use is potassium triiodide which is made by dissolving iodine in an aqueous solution of potassium iodide."

This is more complete:
A standard solution of triiodide is made by adding a weighed amount of standard potassium iodate (KIO3) to an excess of potassium iodide and then add adding strong acid to produce triiodide.
