..have advocated the reduction in the loss of American lives and money.. I got news for you - EVERYONE is for that.

It's a fantasy to think the UN can or will reduce the US burden. Regardless of what level of involvement the UN has (and remember the Bush administration has been trying to get them involved since before the war) the bulk of the military burden will fall on the US. There's no one else to step in in a material way.
