Then why is it that when Republicans talk about the deficits they create, they insist on talking about the deficit as a %GDP?

And it's considered accurate to present numbers in as adjusted for inflation.

To ignore the aspect of %GDP or inflation adjusted dollar shows an intent to deceive.

And attemtping to suggest the President has lied because Republican say this or that is so childish.

Republicans have been repeating this gross overstatement for more than a decade, but now there's less justification for it than ever.

No doubt about it, it's a "gross overstatement".

And to look at absolute dollars and pay no attention to that amount as a %GDP or $ adjusted for inflation is a childish assessment.
