The militant Hamas leader was one of Israel's top targets after it had assassinated Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin in an airstrike last month.

Rantisi's car was hit with missiles Saturday evening on the road outside his home, leaving only the burned, destroyed vehicle.

Rantisi was taken to the hospital in critical condition, his body pocked with bloody wounds, and rushed into emergency surgery, but he died five minutes after arriving at the hospital.

In your bigotry, you are so quick to judge Jews and particularly Israeli Jews.

Yes, there are things and speeches that reflect individual's bias and leaders are human. You've read, I'm sure, anti-Semitic comments from Truman and Nixon. (Yet, both supported Israel.) They were reflective of thinkers of the time. Yet, I wouldn't consider them on a par with Hitler or the Malaysian PM or Arafat or the religious nuts in the Mideast who attack purely for the sake of religion.

As you so want to go back for historical arguments to find factoids, I think Israel's history compares quite favorably with that of the US and our own struggles with slavery, religious freedom, women's rights and now even gay rights.

No matter how many times you stand on your little head, Israel ain't going away. Your attitude reflects Arafat's. He makes himself "irrelevant."

As I've posted, I'm no fan of Sharon. But he's done a masterful job and the Arabs can use this as a step back to the "Road Map" or they can be their own undoing as that Hamassshole found out today.
