Excellent post. Too bad it and my comment drawing attention to it are on this thread and both will be pushed off the screen fast by other posts.

If you have realistic solutions, there are millions of people who would love to hear them. Maybe we could get you a job in the Oval Office. :-)

#2 seems to vary. Some communities have already passed laws stopping outsourcing of city gov't functions. And others are doing it.

What's happening is really no surprise. What surpised is that it took so long to get going. Given cheap international communications, which has been available for years, it is possible and was bound to happen.

Although if some of the reports I have read are correct, outsourcing is but a small part of the problem of lack of job growth during the recovery. They claim that productivity is still increasing and because of that the recovery has been able to increase production without increasing employment. I haven't seen this claimed backed up though.

What you are hearing today about out sourcing is all political demagoguery. After the votes are counted it will be forgotten, until the next election.
Yes. The economic trends will continue, though.
