By empowering the common man in the Middle East, US lose control over the country. Arab world has always found lame excuses for its inability to progress with change of times. Nearly al Arab countries are dictatorships and their inherent likeness of a strongman within Islamic societies may have a lot to do with this. That said the denial of freedom within Arab land has definitely helped covert cells to mushroom. Outlet of political expression and open dissent aiming at change of government is prohibited in nearly all the Arab lands. Under King Khaled the Saudi holy cities were attacked by Saudi tribes and the ‘Haram’ was taken over by Juhamiyan tribe, there is demand of freedom of expression in Saudi Arabia largely ignored by the ruling elite, Laden has more political grievances with his own country than he had with US, but hitting US and Israel is the most popular political slogan, every sin can be conducted in name of resisting US and Israel, most of these political battles have a color of Islam and Jihad once US and Israel can be attached, wars were being fought domestically have the other element of the succession post Fahd, Abdullah tribal connections, his family ties to the northern Shamar confederation (through his mother) and his control of the Hijaz Tribal Council that rules the sites of the holy places of Islam in Mecca and Medina are a matter of concern for Sultan the affective head of the pro-Western Sudayri princes, Sultan wants to have a say once Abdullah is the King for the selection of the Crown prince. Two opposing forces are acting here one like Laden trying to uproot Sauds and install of most puritan Wahabi regime and it has a support other within the Sauds the faction which are pro- western and more independent. These internal convulsions can be more directed so that an implosion is avoided if freedom of expression is allowed. Egypt a key country has not seen a power transfer for last 29 years or more so has been Syria run by a dictators son, the natural affinity of all these leadership is to direct the political anger towards global evens and injustices. They rarely remind the populace of massive political historical blunders that have denied Islamic countries freedom of expression and have caused so much pain for Palestinians. The doctor and head of hammas yesterday evaporated by Israeli missiles was responsible to send many a young man to one way suicide missions to heavens, yesterday he went to havens as a result of policy that calls for eye for an eye, I just don’t see any reason to be worried about that as far as he met his houries for which he was brainwashing so may young man, his early date with heavens may bring him the desired martyrdom which he inspired so much, how much of blood should spill until these countries and people realize that political negotiation and not terror is the answer of their cohabitative living. This what is happening seems to be very chaotic but let me be honest it is a very fast learning curve, the year of 1967 highlighted by hostage taking and political mileage out of terror become core practice of most of these fringe groups, now they have been caught in a cul de sac, the policy of appeasement has disappeared, they now realize that they need to face political realities and people are seeing for themselves that freedom bring change and change although chaotic will sustain better conditions. The problem is that for last three decades in our region alone between Iraq Iran war, Iraq Kuwait war, Kurdish gassing, Syrian Hama killing fields and Afghanistan Jihad 2-4 million muslims have perished, these are all internecine inter-sectarian wars which media rarely consider to be bad news, these decades of extreme bloodsheds and warfare’s would have continued if US 911 intervention would not have replaced Talebins in Afghistan and mad tyrant Saddam in Iraq, they want peaceful Iraq and free Iraq but with Saddam thugs in power, this is a contradiction that is so huge that one cannot fail to overlook, the Iraq of today where people are free without regime a Saddam but without any war was not possible the dance of death in the region would have continued, in my opinion fringe elements and privilege class is fighting for anarchy hit Iraq they want Americans to leave so that they can reinstitute the Sunni modeled dictatorship over the entire country, the alliance between Sadr and other Fullajhans residents will collapse once they get power vacuum, here is the trick that Americans are refusing to fall in they know it well that reforming Iraq means a reformed region, and I am sure that your fears in short run may be very correct but in long run Iraq is functioning as a country already, trade is happening and civil issues that form the embryonic structure on which a nation is built is being reconstructed. Empowering a common man helps eradicate the poisonous dose of the tyrants which tell them that every ill has its root extended to west, now with freedom people have the right to choose that they will do soon after forty years in Afghistan and soon in Iraq, what is good for us is good for this region, in short run chaos only tells me that the society is changing, the forces of destruction never win they will now also lose the war.
