Way better than trying to upgrade your POS.

If you have $100 to $200 more for xRAM, go for it.

I buy a new PC every 3 years.

I wouldn't try it with that little amount of ram. Watch the ads at techbargains.com and you'll find something better than that. Integrated audio and video. It'll be more trouble free that the P3 but you won't notice much more speed, if any at all.

256 mg DDR is nice. 128 works ok, 256 is better. 384 better yet. i got a dell celeron with 128 ddr. bot 256 ddr from crucial (www.crucial.com) present prices are $36 for 128, $70 for 256. try the 128 - if you're not doing a whole lot at once, 128 should be fine. enjoy! larry
