One thing that would appear to be paying off is that Israel must be rewarding informants handsomely to come forward to enable them to cut the heads off the snakes. I don't see how they could accomplish what they've done recently otherwise. Nearly everyone has their price, and it has to be worth it given the lives it will save in the long run. A dead martyr/ringleader is still dead and unable to devise any more of their brilliant "plans". The European francophone media I've followed has been unusually shrill on these latest events, but we have to be realistic - neither of the two Hamas ringleaders were a valid "negotiating partner" and never would be.
