Right, there was so much in the Woodward interview on 60 Minutes, I had forgotten about the son's problem with the father. OMG. It's as if the worst rumors and stories about the failures of GWB are all proving to be true.

Imagine what greater effect the 2,000 "oil crisis" would have had on the election if Clinton hadn't released oil from the national reserves? The sad thing about the phoney 2,000 energy crisis is, on one hand, that there will be a real energy crisis in the near future and, on the other hand, the phoney crisis hurt a lot of Americans by putting a monkey wrench in barely profitable businesses and leading to a recession. Of course it also resulted in a huge transfer of wealth from California to Texas; all this while the Federal Energy Commission refused to act to stabilize prices and limit the gouging and damages. Remember Cheney's statements to the effect that it was the fault of Californians for their deregulation and failure to build infrastructure and that the huge price leaps were just free market fluctuations? What a mean spirited and devious man.
