Thanks for the good example Skinow. But what do you mean by sometimes? I don't believe you sometimes agree on ruling the household. Women are total megalomaniacs as far as households go. Heck, in NZ, they are total megalomaniacs in regard to the whole country.

The men have left town, leaving women and eunuchs to run the place. The guys are all hiding out in cyberspace, with die-hards in their sheds, or out in the forests hunting deer and pigs. Guys are cerfing into code - that's the new frontier. Inner space, not outer space. The microcosm and telecosm, not the cosmic.

Sure, women even run the big telcos, Telecom and Telstra in New Zealand. But they are just figureheads, like the figureheads on ships of ye olde times. The blokes are the designers and running the engine room, making it happen.

I suppose the "ruler the world" idea comes from the eons-long alpha male dominance hierarchies primates have lived in, including humans, so we just intuitively KNOW that there has to be somebody at the top of the heap, ruling the world. Even though there isn't. Plenty try to get there, but just isn't a place at the apex because there isn't actually an apex. There are millions and billions of smaller knolls and lumps. Even $ill Gates and King George II aren't especially powerful. The Pope is just a cult leader of small part of humanity. Hu Jintao is in charge of lots of people, as long as Jiang Zemin and co go along with him. But even if they do, they only rule less than quarter of the world.

So, it's easy to be seduced by a paranoid belief in some evil conspiracy controlling everyone. I suppose that's why.
