Actually SC, DNA has lasted near enough to forever, with an ever-increasing spiraling sophistication, with actual consciousness and creativity now built into the twisted pair of umpteen genes.

So far, DNA has ruled the world, but there's a lurking monster, cyberspace, which is now under construction. Already, cyberspace via Google has vast memory and instant recall with negligible errors. Perception is increasingly being built into cyberspace, with transducers by the billion feeding data in. Sight, sound, temperature, industrial process inputs, radiation, cash flows, prices, and all sorts of things which can be measured are being put in to cyberspace.
