"Knocked the cover off the ball." We used to use electrical tape when that happened. I can tell you how to keep a cracked bat going, too, but I guess your kids use those plinky aluminum bats.

I wish both Yanks and Sox had lost. You guys took over my tube Fri. night, and I missed what many observers on both sides said was the best AB they had ever seen. I think they said Gagne started Bonds off with a few change-ups on the outside; then he started bringing the heat. One apparently almost got Bonds, because he was thinking "I'm not going to make it; some broken ribs and a punctured lung and a few months on the DL." Next fouled off a 100 mph hit into the cove , then a homer. Two of the best going head to head, and not giving an inch. Thanks a lot, to both you and Altie. I'm glad I missed it. Grrrr

<BTW, HBO ran that entertaining Curse of The Bambino
documentary again this weekend. Did you see it?>

What curse? Who's The Bambino?!! <g>

It's going to be a great series - Shilling is great, and Arroyo scares me.
