Unfortunately most Democrats are no better. They do not stand for ANYTHING except trying to win and hold power. That is after all why political parties exist to obtain and hold power. I'll conceed that that is the Democrats main objective. Certainly, the Dems have been just as responsible as the Repubs for the militarism that our country has increasingly embraced. Both parties waste ungodly amounts of money on the war machine and ignore domestic priorities. All I can say is at least the Dems don't pretend to be fiscal conservatives and act as if they're interested in things like states rights, while doing the exact opposite (something that is abundently clear with the Republicans).
