....and what a beautiful civil war it would be if the US left along with the rest of the coalition! Shiaa of all varieties lined up to fight baathists and wahabis. We could guarantee the Kurdish area without much trouble. Of course the Kurds would drive the arabs out but what the hell. And maybe the iranians would enter if the shiaa got in trouble. And after sustaining large casualties, perhaps revolution would sweep iran. And while all of them are fighting each other we could grab the oil. Boy this is fun. <g>

(CNN) -- Radical Islamic cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has welcomed Spain's decision to withdraw its troops from Iraq "in the shortest time possible," as U.S. officials braced for more possible pullouts.

According to a spokesman in the Iraqi city of Najaf, the Shiite cleric praised Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero's decision Sunday to pull Spain's 1,400-plus troops from Iraq.

Al-Sadr also is asking that people from all coalition countries put pressure on their governments to follow Spain and recall their forces, spokesman Fuad al-Turfi said.
