Jake, what does ignoring the truth and persisting in a doomed-to-failure action that will cost many more casualties have to do with "support" for our troops or "honor" for their risks? With your definition the Russians would still be losing soldiers in Afghanistan, the French in Vietnam and the Sudan, and we'd still be bringing home our young from Vietnam in body bags. As for me, I kind of like Vietnam just the way it is; we "honored" and "supported" our dead there just fine by leaving. The truth is the truth and to ignore it does not support or honor anyone. Can you get that through to your brain?
