At least Ringo and the Beatles left us with a fine musical legacy and contribution. AG is something all together different. I lump him somewhere between John Law, and Dr. Joseph Goebbels.

To show how cynical I've become, I just finished reading Arianna Huffington's book, "Pigs at the Trough". Although she tends to be too partisan, she nails it right on the head: the US has become incredibly corrupt.

You can tie all the greed and corruption together and easily paint a picture of a very large criminal enterprise of sorts. That's why you see "policies" being carried out that make no rationale sense. That is until you ask, who benefits from it? In the end though, the corrupters just end up with a Tragedy of the Commons situation, that wrecks them as well. But I suppose they'll find some Ayn Randian island somewhere and just escape it all?
