Why do you think that the Palestinians should be given an infinite amount of chances before their intransigence starts to cost them?

I don't have nearly as much of a problem with Sharon asserting that they will hang on to certain settlements in exchange for withdrawing from the rest of the territories, as I do about Bush publicly backing such a plan and adding unecesssary fuel to the fire.

He could have just said nothing, leaving at least the premise of remaining an objective broker. But making his unecessary statemnet does not serve our interests, nor does it assist the moderate Palestinian leaders in being able to convince their extremist elements to make the best deal possible before Sharon increases his demands for more settlements.

As for the link to Egypt.. very interesting.. If true (and I suspect it probably is).. Thanks for the link..
