I think Heinz should stick to her guns. She is not running for any office. It is long past time that we stopped considering the President's wife in the role of "first lady," from now on candidate's wives (or husbands) are likely to have lives of their own.

Maybe she can agree to have them vetted by the FBI for conflicts of interest instead.

I agree with you (re :Heinz's tax returns).
If you'll recall, Geraldine Ferraro had the
same problem with her husband's tax returns.

He took the same attitude as Heinz and ultimately
caved, making the situation even worse.

My prediction is that Heinz will ultimately give in,
but not very happily.
