The vast majority of historians, regardless of spiritual beliefs concur that Jesus lived and died exactly the way the bible claims.

But will the real Jesus please stand up . One Jesus or many ? The evidence is so scant that there was really just one ...and many were crucified , by the 1000's.

Paul had a willing already~made flock , wanting to be given hope and sense of justice , equality and destiny in the eternal afterlife ...and wanting to believe in miracles of which Paul had plenty of access of imagery too. And he supplied and applied it with great zeal . Paul's mission as sccessful as it was also , for the elements of such sophisticated ideas as these were already much in place from out of the Helene sense of the world , as much as from the Jewish . The times certainly were changing, and with the great older body of Jewish law and biblical scripture , there was plenty to embellish and improvise on.
Preachers and magicians with their insights into the divine were everywhere.

There is nothing like those ideas times have come , though draped in superstitions and borrowed beliefs refined by time and revolution of reason , philosophy and idealism ...and a sense of a greater order in the universe aand brotherhood , that even most children can sense from the first , before their minds are poisoned with bigotry or superstition ...or hate .

"Are you so stupid that you cannot differentiate between belief "in Jesus" as savior and belief "about Jesus" as a historical person"

Please don't glory in being an ignoramus. I think it rather likely (DUH!) that people whom believe Jesus was Divine also believe He had a nose. The only scholars and the only people who believe in the Jesus of the gospels (DUH! ... The guy who believed in the Hell) are CHRISTIANS! Nobody else on the planet believes that Jesus the "wonder-worker" lived! And to believe that the OT is DIVINE requires a person who is emotionally retarded or mentally loose. :-)

(What is the proper punishment for gathering wood, again! How do we deal with 42 children laughing and playing!).
