I think they are underestimating the impact of the tax cut. My initial calculation was wrong because I was 1) using the WSJ's numbers and 2) I made a mistake. But now that I've looked at it myself (instead of relying on other people's numbers), it looks like the tax cut's impact is $50 to $75 Billion per year ... a start on the $700 Billion deficit.

If it is only $25 Billion, then lets repeal it right away since it is a meaningless amount<g>. I would consider it my contribution to the war effort.

The actual impact is unclear. On "Meet the Press" yesterday:

MR. RUSSERT: Senator, if you repeal the top bracket of the Bush tax cut, you get about $50 billion a year.

SEN. KERRY: Actually, you get about--you get more than that, Tim.
