War is all about dilemmas. It is always about it being worse to refrain from engaging than to engage, and it depends a lot upon one's values and one's surmises. If I did not think that the world is likely to be better due to this war, I would not support it. I could, of course, be wrong, or the aims of the war could be thwarted. That is part of being human, too. It is the human condition to have to act with partial knowledge and with the possibility of failure. Choices are never easy, leadership is hard, responsibility is a burden. All of this nonsense about bad planning, as if everything could be anticipated or easily corrected, has no basis in history. In historical terms, this has already been markedly successful, although it is still perilous........
