Heck, so we went into Iraq in order to provide a base of operations that isn't Saudi Arabia? That helps the Saudi royal family keep a lid on the OBL's of the world and stay in power. We control the ME from the military base and "embassy" in Iraq which allows us to pull troops and civilians from SA. The "street" no longer objects, OBL's argument about the US being in the holy cities in SA is undercut and all is well in the oily world? This whole thing is getting stranger and stranger.
