The YF and blackbirds are remarkable planes. What I find especially incredible about them is how old and yet still useful they are. I think the blackbirds (maybe I'm wrong here) have been reccommissioned. Seems I heard something like this not too long ago.

I like jets. They are useful to get from place to place in a hurry. But I find props most fun, most interesting. Were I a fighter pilot able to fight in any era, I would choose to fight in WWII, Pacific Theatre. I would also choose to fly the P-38J Lightning.

She may not look like much to our modern eyes, now accustomed to stealth configurations, but she was the Raptor of her time.

I was only kidding about the 38J being the greatest fighter. I think fighters have various "personalities" and functions. But from all I have been able to gather, the 38J is me in plane form.
