Yes, and there was widespread repugnance within the context of democratic debate, and there was a movement among civilized nations to produce a treaty which banned the use of such weapons, to which Britain became a signatory. Furthermore, there was never a chance they would use them on us. Anyway, at least you are moving in the direction of relevancy of rejoinder, even if you fail to handle historical context well.
