Oh please. Bush has a 5% lead over Kerry on the terrorism issue. Big deal. That can be erased in one day. Bill Schneider on CNN explained what happened this week. Things got SO bad in Iraq that even those people who disagree with Bush's handling of the war temporarily rallied behind him out of fear because we are losing too many troops and we want them to win not lose. Kerry agrees by the way, in terms of needing to not lose.

Next, the emphasis will be back on how the hell we get out of the quagmire, the mis-management of the whole war, the lack of preparations and the fact that until we get rid of Cheney-Bush the international community will snub us.

Right now "fighting terrorism" is perceived as a military solution with out troops being in Iraq. It is Kerry's to articulate that fighting terrorism is not firepower but brainpower.

On Meet the Press, he said clearly that it is not "primarily" a military solution. First, we need to identify the terror cells. And this is done through brain power/intelligence. Once identified, you send in your Special forces, the Seals etc, to bust those cells.

Once this sinks in with time in the minds of the American people, you will see the polls turn on the security issue.
