Just two months ago, Mr. Greenspan went out of his way to emphasize the financial benefits of adjustable-rate, as opposed to fixed-rate, mortgages. Let's hope that not too many families regarded that as useful advice.

Indeed, some mortgage companies are using Greenspan's quote when they advertise ARMs.

Greenspan should have been sacked for promoting the stock-market bubble and becoming its chief cheerleader; instead he has been retained so he could ignite the debt bubble now, and which he has. This is surreal!
