As far as I'm concerned, it was "put out of its misery" when the thread creator started a new moderated thread. The existence of the moderated thread combined with the ongoing political commentary by all sides was the motivation for moving this thread into the "Politics/Government" forum, which is where it will remain. By the time the problem was brought to my attention, it was too late to undo the damage, especially considering the new thread and the fact that the originator actively participates in the political commentary.
