Mars is a big boy...I think. He can answer his own posts

I did already make a reply to your unaapreciation of the facts for the early and late christians being intolerant and the most extreme form of bigots here :
Message 20040806

and will do so again without hesitation , for it is the truth ...

And Jesus was also no "meek little lamb" in his extremely short-lived ministry either , if the truth be told of this elevated God and Superstar of an empire. Pacifism was not ever in his tribal nature, though he attempted to play around with this novel idea , though not really unique as history now shows .His intolerance & vehemence was constantly surfacing with fire and brimstone and prejudice ...until the impending path of martyrdom sobered him up in the last few days before he died and was gone . The message remained of course , for every reasonable man was already thinking about these things.

But for the Empire and many people who hadalready felt for centuries the yoke of oppression and slavery and life so hard and demanding as to reduce the common man to an animal . This archetype kind of preacher and this kind of humanist/pacifist leaning towards brotherhood and equality must have been quite ready to take root everywhere . You see the slave rebellion in Spartacus , only 100yrs earlier .The pagans already had developed a high sense of brotherhood and harmony with the seasons , just like the stiff-necked Jew.

People everywhere were hoping and praying for a better life ...more education for their children ,more dignity under the sun , and freedom and liberty to enjoy the fruits of their labors .

The "Kingdom" is only a metaphor ...One God who promised eternal life and threatened eternl damnation was a gimmie , but as you know it is more complicated than that ...achieving grace that is .

, the early Christians were quite intolerant..... They believed as you do , that their God was the only God and that their Savior was the only savior. "Except through me you shall not see my Father," as they believed Jesus had said. More than that, they also believed that Jesus had commanded them to spread the faith by converting others. As a consequence, Christians were not willing to let others follow their own faiths, but condemned the beliefs of others and tried to convert them to their own belief.>>

The early Christians were extreme bigots, filled with zeal and commanded to evangelize; expansion and domination was built into Christianity. But the other truth remains , that for many others on this planet , they have their own God , their own Buddhas , their own Saints

"Mars is a big boy...I think. He can answer his own posts."

That comkment is stupid and childish. The nature of Bulletin Boards is to allow everyone in the "room" to speak to any matter of interest. If you want to play the fool you can do it on the "Ask God" thread.
